Meditation has been one of the most relaxing, nurturing and rewarding practices of my life. It has also been one of most challenging to cultivate. I can only imagine if I had a meditation teacher or coach to support me when I set the intention to start a daily practice, how much stronger my practice would be.

In any case all you have is this moment, and in this and any moment you can sit, close your eyes,  go inside, and connect to your breath. How long you stay seated depends on your desire to experience a deeper connection to the universe and a deeper understanding to who you really are.

Please know this: it is hard to sit and listen to your thoughts. It is common to think you are not doing it right because “nothing is happening.” For me the key is to pay more attention to the breath and less attention to the thoughts. Just ignore them. Meditation is about listening, not to the thoughts, but what is being whispered to you beneath the thoughts.
